Tuition Assistance
- What kind of tuition assistance is available?
  We offer several kinds of tuition assistance to families who are seeking a Catholic education for their children, including:
  
  EdChoice (both traditional and expansion)
  
  Parish grant, for families who are active members of the parish and who live their Catholic faith
  
  Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund grants
  
  Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarships (if appropriate)
- How do I apply for tuition assistance?
  EdChoice and Jon Peterson Scholarships are administered by the Ohio Department of Education. Please contact Michelle Lantz at [email protected] or (614) 471-4930 for assistance with first-time applications or renewals.
  Emmaus Road Scholarships and Diocesan Annual Tuition Assistance are administered by the Office of Catholic Schools. This process is completed via FACTS Grant & Aid (link below). Please contact Michelle Lantz with questions. The application deadline is March 15, 2024.
  
  St. Matthew School Scholarships and Parish Grants are administered by school and parish staff. Starting this year, we will use the FACTS Grant & Aid application to award these funds (link below). The application deadline is March 15, 2024.
  FACTS Grant & Aid
- What does it mean to be an "active, participating member of St. Matthew Parish"?
  Saint Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish (and some other parishes) can provide practicing and participating members of their parish a tuition grant to assist with tuition. "Participating membership" at St. Matthew Parish is defined by diocesan policy, and along with Christian discipleship as follows:
  
  Be registered as a parishioner and attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Days.
  
  Volunteer 'time and talent' in service to the parish (consider 1 hour per week) and track that ministry work in Track It Forward (link at the bottom of our homepage).
  
  Contribute regularly to the financial support of the parish via envelopes, checks or electronic contributions (suggested 1 hour of weekly income - 2.5%).
  
  Track It Forward Online Giving
  
  These habits strengthen our Christian discipleship and develop stronger relationships within the family, with other St. Matthew School families, the parish community, and with Jesus Christ.
- What is the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund SGO?
  Did you know that you (and everyone in Ohio) can choose to give the money you/they usually pay in state taxes to an SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization) called the Emmaus Road Scholarship? That's right, you have to pay the money anyway, but Ohio will let you give that money to families seeking Catholic Educations for their children! Is this a great state or what!?!? It's like you get to choose where you want your state taxes to go! Check it out for yourself:

  The way we look at it is if everyone donated what they owe the state in state taxes to the SGO instead every student in the school would get money off of their tuition!
