FYI's
Absences
Students and Parents
A common sense approach to dealing with the many absences we have will be
greatly appreciated.
1. If you have a sibling or neighbor who can bring your work that you have
missed, please email or call the office by 9:00. We do our best to send as
much home as possible with the sibling or neighbor that you identify.
2. We will have work ready at 2:15 for students who do not have a sibling
or
neighbor. Again, please call or email by 9:00 to give us time to collect
as
much as we can. Absent work will be on the ledge outside of the office.
3. Please do not disrupt our classes. Should you need a specific item in
someone's locker, let us know and we can have it on the ledge at 2:15. You
are welcome to get in lockers after school if there is something specific
that is needed.
4. If you anticipate that you are going to be absent just for the day,
relax
and get better. You can have one day to make up any major test you missed
or
turn in any work that was due. The exception is reports and projects that
have a hard due date.
5.It is the student's responsibility to meet with Mrs. Hessler,Mrs.
B.,Mrs.
McFadden, and me as soon as you return to school to arrange to take tests
that have been missed. You may need to stay after school to catch up on
any
concepts or teaching that you missed. We may have missed giving you a
handout
or announcement that was not available at the time we gathered your
things.
We try our best to gather and keep track of what is due, etc.
6.It is the student's responsibility to get things turned in or made up in
a
timely manner. Communication with us is the key! Not sure if something was
handed in? ASK!!! Missing a handout? ASK!!! We will do our best to get you
caught up, but you must be proactive!
