Hello! My name is Christina Amweg and this is my 8th year teaching in the
Diocese, and my 2nd year in 2nd grade. I previously taught Kindergarten
and am excited to continue my teaching journey here at St. Matthew in 2nd
grade. I have always wanted to teach 2nd grade!

I am the oldest of four, and live in Hilliard with my husband and our children
Anthony (2), and Leo (6 months). We have a husky puppy named, Bella, and enjoy
playing music together and taking walks as a family.

I love to sing and during the summers I try to get involved in community
theatre. I will be helping out with drama club this year. I also LOVE my
Catholic faith and am so anxious and excited to help
our students prepare for their sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion
this year.

Philosophy of Education

I believe that each child is a special gift from God, created with unique
talents and abilities, and it is my job to help my students realize this and
use them to their full potential. I believe that all children are capable of
learning and success. It is my mission to help them succeed in any way I
can. I believe that education should be developmentally appropriate and
child-centered. I believe that the classroom environment and behavior
management should be founded on respect and love, infused with the teachings
of Christ. Lastly, I believe that together, with parents, we can work
together to make this a positive and successful year for our students.
